Terms of use
Short, because there is not much to agree to. The tool is free, it is provided as-is, and your text stays yours.
What this is
These terms govern your use of redlinepad.com and the comparison tool on it. Using the site means accepting them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site — there is nothing to cancel and no account to close.
Redline Pad is operated by an independent developer based in Sweden. It is provided free of charge. There is no subscription, no paid tier, and no contract for services between us.
Using the tool
You may use Redline Pad for any lawful purpose, including commercial work, without asking. You may not use it to break the law, to attack or overload the site, or to misrepresent its output as something it is not.
Nothing here grants you rights in the site itself — its code, design and written content remain mine — but the output of a comparison is not mine in any sense. See below.
Your text
The text you paste in remains entirely yours. I acquire no rights in it, no licence to it, and no copy of it: it is never transmitted to me or to anyone else, as the privacy page explains. The redline you produce is yours to use however you wish.
You are responsible for having the right to use the text you paste, and for whether pasting it into any tool — this one included — is consistent with your own confidentiality obligations. The architecture is designed to make that question easy to answer honestly, but it is still your question to answer.
No warranty
Redline Pad is provided as-is and as-available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
In particular: a comparison is a mechanical account of how two pieces of text differ. It is not legal advice, it is not a substitute for reading the document, and it may differ from what another comparison tool would show you. See the disclaimer, which is part of these terms.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any loss or damage arising out of your use of Redline Pad, including any loss arising from an error or omission in a comparison, from reliance on its output, or from the site being unavailable.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded or limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Availability and changes
This is a small tool run by one person. It may be changed, interrupted or discontinued at any time, without notice. Since nothing is stored, there is nothing you would lose if it went away, which is one of the better arguments for building it this way.
These terms may change. The date at the top of this page says when they last did. Any change that affects what happens to your text will also be reflected on the privacy page, which is the one that matters.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Swedish law, and the courts of Sweden have jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of your own country.
